Mediapro has trained Norfolk Constabulary's Force Control
Room Inspectors, who are in charge of the region's emergency
999 calls. Using historic Call and Dispatch incidents our
reporters realistically
re-enacted fatal road traffic accidents
and firearms incidents that would attract immediate national
and local media attention.
The Inspector’s were interviewed and recorded by our trainers, who when working as reporters, frequently call the police when such incidents occur. You will see from some of the feed back below that, although challenging, the Inspectors found the training to be very useful and constructive.
(The Inspector's names have not been included for reasons of security)
"The practical exercises were
very good. The trainers were very approachable and informed.
Previously there was a lot of stigma about talking to the
press - but this has given me the confidence to speak to the
media."
"A worthwhile course which should
be extended to other departments and ranks who are required
to deal with the media on a regular basis."
"Excellent presentation. Very
realistic attitude from the trainers who worked brilliantly
together. Very relaxed, very easy learning."
"Good practice to speak to the
media in a training environment and having feedback from the
instructors."
"Very useful course in dealing
with the media. Not too long. Relevant and not
too heavy. Excellent."
"An
enjoyable course which I believe can only improve the already
good relations between the press and the police."
"Extremely useful training that should be cascaded to
all ranks."
"The trainers were good with suggestions
and constructive feedback. This training should be an
annual thing."
"This course has dispelled
some worrying myths about the media. I will now be more
confident in my future dealings and look forward to a better
exchange of information."
